Boston Marathon Bombing Anniversary Events April 2025

Strength to Strength’s was honored to have once again a team of runners committed to supporting our important work by fundraising and running the Boston Marathon. Our incredible 2025 Strength to Strength Boston Marathon Team included Bridget Assip, David Borowik, Annie Camacho, Randy Klatzke & Victor Alexander Polanco.

This year’s Boston Marathon took place on Monday, April 21, 2025, and was particularly special. We had an amazing team of runners supporting Strength to Strength’s mission of uniting victims of terrorism, which includes survivors, bereaved families, and first responders impacted by terrorism. For many Boston members of Strength to Strength, along with family and friends, running is part of the healing process.

Ahead of the 2025 Boston Marathon, Strength to Strength hosts a special pre-race dinner at Joe’s on Newbury every year that brings together our runners, survivors, & families in an evening of community, encouragement, and shared purpose. The dinner creates space to recognize the incredible dedication of those who train and fundraise on behalf of our members, while also celebrating the strength of survivors and the enduring spirit of Boston Strong that continues to inspire people around the world. Stories were shared, connections deepened, and the room carried a sense of anticipation for the powerful day ahead.

On Marathon Monday, five committed runners took to the course, each carrying with them not only their training but also the stories and resilience of the victims they were representing. Their miles became more than just a physical challenge, but they became an act of remembrance and solidarity, a way of honoring lives lost and demonstrating that healing can move forward with strength and hope. Together, they raised significant funds to sustain Strength to Strength’s mission, while also raising awareness among thousands of spectators along the marathon route.

At the finish line, survivors gathered in the VIP section to cheer on the runners and show their unwavering support. But more importantly, they came together at the very place where many of them had survived, standing shoulder to shoulder in a moment filled with both emotion and meaning. To return to that space, once marked by tragedy, and to fill it with community, encouragement, and hope was profoundly powerful. It shows the resilience of the human spirit and the deep truth at the heart of Strength to Strength that when victims come together, healing becomes stronger, and no one walks the road alone.

Strength to Strength is always here to support our Boston family members and will continue to be there in the years ahead.

Special thank you Joe’s on Newbury for ALWAYS taking such good care of us.
