Oklahoma City 30th Anniversary April 19, 2025

Strength to Strength traveled to Oklahoma City to join survivors, families, and community members in marking the 30th anniversary of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The day carried immense meaning, not only as a remembrance of the 168 lives taken but also as a tribute to the resilience and strength of the survivor community that has grown over the past three decades.

The anniversary was marked by an incredibly moving ceremony at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, where survivors and bereaved families came together to honor their loved ones and reflect on how far they have come since 1995. Strength to Strength members who have long been part of our network stood shoulder to shoulder with our Oklahoma City members, creating a bridge between generations of survivors. Throughout the day, stories were exchanged and the importance of having a community that understands.

In addition to the formal memorial service, survivors spent time together with personal conversations, shared meals, and quiet moments of reflection. These opportunities for connection highlighted the heart of Strength to Strength’s mission which is to providing peer support and ensure that no victim feels alone. As always, the hospitality of our Oklahoma City community, who continues to host and welcome us each year underscores the lasting impact of solidarity and compassion.

By being present in Oklahoma City, we reaffirm our belief that healing is lifelong and that our responsibility to victims of terrorism does not fade with time — it grows stronger. The 30th anniversary was not only a day of remembrance but also a powerful reminder that resilience, unity, and support can transcend tragedy and help carry survivors forward for years to come.

Strength to Strength will continue to provide support especially on anniversaries for as long as those impacted by the Oklahoma City Bombing need us.
