The Road Forward

An intimate conversation with survivors

October 18, 2025

Strength to Strength’s was honored to host a powerful Saturday night program titled The Road Forward: An Intimate Conversation with Survivors, bringing together a group of Strength to Strength supporters to hear firsthand from those who have lived through terror. Jack Baxter spoke about surviving the 2003 bombing at Mike's Place bombing in Tel Aviv. Chavie Knapp shared her journey surviving the 1995 bus bombing in Gush Katif. Eli Weiss recounted surviving the December 1, 2001, triple bombing on Ben Yehuda Street during the Second Intifada and spoke about honoring the memory of his brother Ari, a true hero who was killed in action in September 2002.

The conversation offered participants an intimate look at how these survivors have rebuilt their lives with resilience, purpose, and determination. Attendees heard stories of hope, courage, and strength that go beyond survival, gaining a deeper understanding of what it truly means to move forward after tragedy. The evening fostered reflection, connection, and empathy, leaving everyone with a sense of inspiration and admiration for the human spirit. Many left feeling motivated to carry that same resilience into their own lives and with a renewed appreciation for the power of community. Strength to Strength looks forward to hosting more evenings like this, giving our supporters insight into the experiences of our members and highlighting the vital role that community — like the one we build together — plays in fostering strength and healing.
