Strength to Strength Virtual Retreat January 31, 2021

Since Strength to Strength members have been meeting over zoom during the year, we decided to take our weekend retreat virtually too. On Sunday morning, January 31, 2021, thirty members of Strength to Strength joined online for a day of connecting and support. Survivors, bereaved family members, and first responders spent the day connecting, sharing and healing. Those in attendence had been impacted from attacks in Oklahoma City, 9/11, Boston, London, Mumbai, Jerusalem, Kenya and Uganda.

The day began with activities over zoom such as zumba and movement therapy, continued with other theraeputic activities and finished with an art project. Participants were sent in advance of the retreat a package filled with items to be used on the day of the retreat including some delicious treats from the Treat House (https://treathouse.com).

The most important thing for participants was being able to spend the day connecting in a retreat-like setting since the March 2020 retreat had been postponed due to covid. While everyone shared that the day was meaningful, we cannot wait to have our retreats back in person. We hope that will happen very soon.

***We want to take this opportunity to say a special THANK YOU to Strength to Strength Advisory Board Member, Joey Zimet, for his morning movement therapy class and Tziporah Gelman from Frumba Chicago for the incredible Zumba class for all those that participated in the online retreat.
